Sausage Stroganoff
A very special dish in Sweden - a copy of the famost Beef Stroganoff - but add ketchup and you get a favorite everybody love!
Sausage Stroganoff
2 onions
800g Falukorv (Falu sausage)
0.5 cup of tomato paste
1 cup tomato ketchup or mashed tomato
3 cups whipping cream
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1 tablespoon butter or cooking oil
salt, pepper, onion powder, cayenne pepper
1. Chop the onion. Melt the butter in a saucepan and let soften the onion in the butter.
2.Cut the sausage into rods around 10 x 50 mm and fry them until they getting little bit brown. Then add the tomato paste, Ketchup/Crushed tomatoes. Stir in the cream and milk and add parsley and the other spices. Let it all simmer together a few minutes.
Serve with rice, pasta or a salad.
